We had our expert, Dr Shaneel, visiting with us and we discussed some really interesting food waste concepts. We talked about how banana leaves are natural polymers and how they can be used as a plastic substitute in some situations. We also talked about possibilities for the future with composting, how initiating change in people's habits can be really hard, and where we see the future of grocery shopping heading.
We also discussed how hard it is to change people's perspectives on plastic use, especially since a significant proportion of US citizens believe that chocolate milk comes from brown cows. Here's the proof!
