The key purpose of the Queensland Virtual STEM Academy is to develop connections for students between their understandings, the science, technology engineering and mathematics (STEM) challenges facing our world and the people who are finding solutions to these challenges.
The challenge your thinking (CYT) sessions provide opportunities to engage and interact with researchers and industry leaders from across the globe to explore answers to the STEM questions of now.
Students will have the opportunity to engage and collaborate with other like-minded STEM students as they connect online in real time. Together, they will explore the thinking and questions of those whose careers and curiosity are leading the way in STEM discovery.
Sessions are interactive. While researchers and industry leaders will provide stimulating information and a focus for contemplation; the deep learning of the session will come from the questions and critical thinking of collective like-minds.
Each session will typically be 60 minutes in duration with students posing questions and challenging assumptions that will leave the participants seeking more answers and contemplating alternative possibilities.
Upcoming CYT sessions
Opportunities will be forwarded to QVSA connected schools as they arise.
