The Queensland Virtual Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Academy (QVSA) is an exciting initiative of Advancing education: An action plan for Education in Queensland focused on engaging and challenging the best and brightest students from years 5 to 9.

The QVSA is delivering enrichment and enhancement programs focusing on current, real world science, technology, engineering and mathematic challenges and research. It is part of a network that includes The Global Tropics Future Project with Thuringowa State High School and the Tropical North Learning Academy - Smithfield State High School

Students have an opportunity to build a portfolio of learning experiences underpinned by inquiry, critical thinking, problem solving, curiosity and collaboration.
As the QVSA name suggests the learning experiences are delivered through an innovative, real time, online learning platform which increases accessibility and harness the power of likeminded collaboration and deep learning amongst our highly capable STEM students seek.
