ODLAA National Open and Distance Learning Awards Recipients
The ODLAA Executive Team are excited to bring an inclusive voice to ODLAA with a commitment to broaden our scope across K-12, VE, and HE. As a testament to this commitment, we used ODLAA's 50th year anniversary to launch the ODLAA National Open and Distance Learning Awards which celebrates:
- Excellence in open, online or distance education evidencing proven pedagogies in open and online spaces.
- Impact on student learning and engagement.
- Innovation in approaches to foster interactivity.
- Engagement in professional learning for active self-advancement of open and online understanding.
- Contribution to advancing open and online education.
The K-12 award has been given to: Dr Glenn Beaumont (QVSA@QASMT). He has been an early adopter of technologies that fosters critical thinking and student collaborative activity. He has explored what is considered effective pedagogies in 3D virtual worlds and online collaborative tools to support teacher-student engagement practices for young people located in metropolitan, regional and rural school in Queensland. He has been influential in development new approaches to teaching as well as leading professional development pathways for teams of teachers to think critically about they way they choose and use technologies.
